SIPF Reached MOU with Russia Counterpart—China-Russia Symposium on Securities Investor Protection Held in Beijing(2015)

On October 23, China Securities Investor Protection Fund Corporation Limited (SIPF) held the Sino-Russian Bilateral Symposium on Investor Protection & MOU Signing Ceremony on Cooperation between Sino-Russian Securities Investor Protection Institutions. SIPF and the Federal Public-State Foundation for the Protection of Investors and Shareholders Rights of Russia signed a MOU and exchanged ideas on common interests.

Both parties stated their willingness to exchange business information, share research results, jointly develop international mechanisms, deepen the bilateral relationship, and on this basis improve the multilateral communication and cooperation mechanism for the protection of international securities investors and cope with the key points/hot issues and common interests under the framework of the MOU.

The two parties also shared ideas on investor protection, legal system development and market regulation. A consensus was reached that China and Russia boast rich and practical experience in securities regulation and investor protection which effectively ensure market prosperity and investors lawful rights and interests. The two countries would like to make frequent bilateral communication.

SIPF attaches high importance to and is committed to pushing forward international communication and cooperation. As of today, it has reached Memorandum of Cooperation with Canadian Investor Protection Fund, US Securities Investor Protection Corporation and European Forum of Deposit Insurer. In view of the absence of a long-effective communication and cooperation platform, SIPF proposed the annual International Securities Investor Protection Conference co-sponsored by China, USA and Canada. Two widely received sessions of the conference have been held and upgraded from bilateral to multilateral cooperation.
